The mill dates back to 1086 and is now a Grade II listed building. Converting it to luxury accommodation took two years to complete and the end result combines
industrial heritage with contemporary living.
The turbine has also been restored and the mill receives all of its energy from the sustainable hydropower it generates.
The building was awarded Best Conservation Project in the Peak Park 2018, and our accommodation has received the Gold Award for Derbyshire Tourism as well as Best Self-Catering Accommodation in the Peak District & Derbyshire 2020.
Unfortunately, due to misuse, we have removed the piano from the mill. It remains on site and can be made available for responsible use by request in another property close by.
Amenities
Bedrooms
The mill can sleep up to seven people across two double bedrooms and one shared bedroom. There is a very comfortable sofa bed in the large upstairs living space in addition to the bedrooms, enabling the mill to accommodate up to eight or nine guests in total. The sofa bed is tucked out of the way of the seating areas.
Bathrooms
Each double bedroom has its own ensuite shower room and there is also a luxury bathroom that can be enjoyed by all.
Kitchen & Dining
A four oven Aga and extensive appliances are available to use within the beautiful oak kitchen, along with dining space for up to eight.
Living
Two open plan living areas across both floors mean there’s plenty of room for relaxing. Each contains a large screen TV.
Modern Convenience
Wifi internet is available throughout the mill, as well as extra details such as underfloor heating and state of the art lighting.
Outdoors
Situated on the banks of the River Wye, there is outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air and a BBQ is available to use during the warmer months.
